Real estate
Davisville Village was historically a residential area, mainly comprised of detached homes built during the 1920’s until the 1930’s. They were mainly English Cottage and Edwardian-style homes, built as attractive solid brick structures. A number of semi-detached homes, and apartment buildings also occupy the area, providing alternative and more affordable living options. In recent years, Davisville Village has undergone rapid condominium development, especially along Yonge St. The emergence of high-rise buildings has not only brought more population-density to the area, but has similarly brought with it the emergence of more restaurants, grocery stores, and cafes.
Main areas of recreation can be found on both Yonge St and Mount Pleasant Ave. The two streets offer plentiful options for restaurants, bakeries, specialty grocery stores, antique stores, and upscale home decorating stores.
Plenty of green-space can be found throughout the neighbourhood, servicing the various schools, families, and daycares in the area. Most notably, Davisville Park is a hub of recreation for local residents, housing six tennis courts, a baseball diamond, and plenty of trees and green-space.
