Danforth Village
Perhaps best known for its shopping district along Danforth Avenue and the infamous "Taste of the Danforth" festival that takes place every year, The Danforth village is a vibrant neighbourhood in the east end of Toronto. A wide range of residents call The Danforth home, including a blend of lower-, middle- and upper-working class people from all sorts of ethnic backgrounds.
Bordered by Milverton Boulevard/Danforth Avenue to the north, the railway tracks to the south, Victoria Park Avenue to the east, and Greenwood Avenue to the west, The Danforth has a multicultural flair that's made up of more than just Greek heritage. This neighbourhood has become increasingly popular among young professionals, many of whom are aspiring and established artists. It's a bustling and dynamic neighbourhood that's characterized by plenty of European-inspired shops and eateries that attract both locals and visitors from all over the GTA and beyond. Residents are also attracted to the neighbourhood's close proximity to the beach(es) and waterfront along Lake Ontario, which makes for fantastic weekends and enjoyable summer days.

Residences in The Danforth neighbourhood are relatively affordable compared to other downtown Toronto areas. This, coupled with the easy access to subway stations along the Bloor-Danforth line, make The Danforth a great option for buyers.
Homes in The Danforth are typically well-maintained and marked by meticulously-manicured lawns, tree-lined walkways, plenty of green space, timeless architecture, and pedestrian-friendly streets and sidewalks.
The more affordable housing options in the area typically reside around Kingston Road, which tend to be the area's smallest homes as well. The more expensive options are located closer to the Beaches to the south.
Semi-detached homes with large porches characterize the residential landscape north of Danforth Avenue. On the south side of the street is a wider range of different types of dwellings, including Victorian semi-detached, townhouses, and bungalows. There are also a handful of apartment buildings that offer residents a lower price tag.
Ashbridges Bay beach is one of the most popular attractions around The Danforth. Every summer thousands of people gather to this beach - among others along The Beaches - to enjoy some sand and sun.
There are also plenty of festivals in the neighbourhood, including the extremely popular Taste of the Danforth where visitors can sample all sorts of mouth-watering Greek cuisine.
"The Danny," as the area is affectionately referred to by the locals, is a shopper's delight. Danforth Avenue is known for plenty of bargain shops, and Shoppers World, an outdoor mall at Danforth Avenue and Victoria Park, is one of the city's largest discount malls. Residents can walk to several fresh produce shops, grocery stores, cafes, restaurants, and yoga studios.
Monarch Park provides several different recreational facilities, including a wading pool, ice rink, and swimming pool. At Gerrard Street and Main Street is the East Toronto Athletic Field featuring all sorts of sports fields, and the Earl Beattie Community Centre on Woodington Avenue also has an indoor pool and gymnasium.
